First Aid and CPR

First Aid and CPR

Purpose of First Aid and Safety Training

The goal of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to react in an emergency.  These skills may help to reduce pain, minimize the consequences of an injury or sudden illness or keep someone alive.

Ultimately, the skills learned in this course could help save a life in an emergency situation. To be able to think critically, make appropriate decisions, and respond appropriately in any emergency are skills that can be developed through practice, case studies, group discussion, using mock situations, and practice. Thus, we will literally spend hours practicing on the manikins and each other to help refine these skills.
